seeking David Lansdown, b 1925

I know this is a long-shot, Does anybody in Thornbury know of a David Lansdown, born in 1925.
During WW2, his family may have been living in Cossington, near Bridgewater.
He was in the military - possibly in the Marines - and from photos I have seen, was in India in 1943. At some stage during the war, he was wounded or taken ill, but I know little more than this.
A record search shows that a David Lansdown's birth was registered in Thornbury in 1925, (his mother's maiden name was Winfield) and it seems he also had a twin, Diana. I am hoping this is the same person.
I am researching this for a family friend who knew him during the war and would very much like to find out what happened to him since.
Many thanks in anticipation,
Martyn

I am Sam Jones, David's grandson. He married gwendoline cox in 1946 and settled in Tockington. He had two daughters now aged 61 & 57 both living locally. He died in 1987 at the age of 62 from bowel cancer. His widow is still alive although poorly at the moment and in hospital.
He worked for his Mother and father for their business Charles Lansdown Coaches, eventually through the death of his mother he bought his other brothers and sisters out and the business was then called Lansdown Coaches. He was the chairman of Tockington parish council and his nephew steven lansdown is the chairman of Bristol City Football club.
Are there any particular bits of info you'd like us to resarch and pass on to him
I hope you have found this information useful. I would like to know more about my Grandfather's time in the war so any information you could provide or photos would be apreciated.
many thanks
