Open days provide entrepreneurs chance to see prize worth over £25,000

Businesses from across Thornbury thinking about entering The Entrepreneur competition to win a business unit worth over £25,000 free for a year, are being reminded that they can visit the prize at a series of open days taking place on 15, 16 and 17 February.

 

The competition has been launched by SEGRO, Europe’s leading provider of business space, and The Bristol Evening Post, and will give a new or fledgling business in Bristol the chance to win a business unit free for a year at SEGRO’s Ashton Vale Trading Estate in Bristol.

 

Open to businesses within the newspaper’s circulation area to win the prize businesses have to send in an overview of their operation and outline why they think they should win the unit which includes the lease for 12 months incorporating rent, rates and service charge.

 

Entrants will then be shortlisted, with those successful being invited to present their case in a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style presentation to a panel of judges.

 

The open days will allow entrants the chance to take a look around the unit and with three different dates and times gives plenty of time for entrants to pop along to see for themselves why the Ashton Vale Trading Estate is so good for business.

 

The open days are taking place on 15 February between 9am to 12 noon, 16 February between 2pm and 5pm and 17 February between 6pm and 9pm.

 

The competition is open to businesses which are already trading or just starting up which would benefit from new premises. Schools, colleges or universities in the area with an entrepreneurial idea are also eligible if they have an idea which would use the unit creatively for a year.

 

The winner will be announced at the newspaper’s black tie Business Awards in June.
