Thornbury Farmers Market provides the local people with a range of local produce, but this Thursday the market will also be the host of some local entertainment too. Local folk group MoMac’nMe will be performing at this Thursday’s market from 10am until noon – the perfect excuse to get into Thornbury and support local business while taking in some live entertainment!
MoMac’nMe has been playing since 2006, though in this time they have had to cope with a number of changes to their line-up. After the recent loss of their third member it looked as though the group would be a duo, only for two new musicians to join afterwards!
Thankfully MoMac’nMe appears to be here to stay for some time yet. However, the recent closure of the Pilning and Severn Beach Farmers Market calls the continued existence of Thornbury Farmers Market into question. In the current economic climate we cannot take these local features for granted and can only hope that performances like those of MoMac’nMe will serve to highlight the existence of the market and its importance to local traders.
Make sure you get in touch and let us know exactly what you think about the future of your local farmers market, or just tell us how whether you enjoyed the music – this is where you can have your say.
