Homophobic Tory Council

Last month I made a Freedom of Information Act request:

I would like to know how much money has South Gloucestershire County Council "Directly" spent on Lesbian Gay Bisexual & Trans youngsters in Yate between dates of the 25th feb 09 - 25th feb 10.

And there arrogant reply was:

LBGT young people are able to access youth provision alongside all young people. There was no separate funding allocated in Yate for LBGT specific work during the period specified.

All we are asking for is an already employed youth worker to hold a LGBTQ youth group for 1 hour each week in an already existing youth centre. The cost will be virtually nothing, but this homophobic Tory council would rather let the youngsters down.

I think such provision would be a positive move - but calling people arrogant and homophobic at the first opportunity rather than explaining why this specific provision is needed isn't going to make anybody change their mind!
