Fresh School Closures Follow Fresh Snowfall

As predicted there was a large amount of fresh snowfall across the country last night, resulting once more in the closure of many schools that had only re-opened on Monday.
The Castle School and Marlwood have announced that they are closed again today due to "adverse weather conditions", though both schools have put plans in motion to enable students to continue taking their important January exams. The Castle School have explained that part of their decision to close the school was informed by the inoperation of school buses due to poor road conditions - conditions which affect much of the local area at this time. However, in keeping with this weeks forecasts of 'erratic' weather conditions, the school hopes that improvements in the weather will enable them to be open again tomorrow.
Earlier today the Met Office issued the following weather report for the South West, stating "A mixture of rain, sleet and snow across England and Wales has led to very icy conditions in many areas, particularly on untreated surfaces. Be aware that these conditions may persist, despite a gradual thaw of lying snow over the next couple of days." This should not be a major cause for alarm though, as the forecasts for the coming week suggest that we're going to see some gradual improvement up to a point where severe weather will not be a concern for local people.
