i went to interpro in thornbury as i had a problem with black smoke coming from my car , iwas told before i went this is caused by the wrong air /fuel mixture , so on entering interpro telling them what was wrong , the mechanic quickly pointed out there is normally a problem with on of the rubber pipes going in to or out of the turbo. this pipe would cost me £67 , i thought this was ok , on them fitting the pipe they said there was some debris by the turbo and this would need to be cleaned or it would nacker up the engine so i agreed to this ,,,, the total cost to fit 1 pipe and clean £428 . they even charged me for diagnostic check even though they knew what the problem was.
