Members of the public are invited to take part in a domestic abuse webchat

Avon and Somerset Police are inviting members of the public to take part in a live webchat with an appointed officer who specialises in domestic abuse investigation.
Detective Sergeant Will Thorpe, from the Bristol domestic abuse team, will be available to answer any questions on the subject online tomorrow (December 14th) DS Will Thorpe will be online between 1pm to 2pm tomorrow. If you are a domestic abuse sufferer or you know someone who is suffering domestic abuse and want advice on where to turn he will be here to answer your questions about what support services are available and how the police investigate.
The web chat aims to raise awareness of domestic abuse as part of the police Have The Christmas You Deserve Campaign.
The message behind the campaign it is that if you are a hard-working law-abiding citizen you deserve to have an enjoyable Christmas that is free of crime and if you commit crime you deserve to spend Christmas in the cells. A microsite website has also been set up by the Avon and Somerset Police that contains information about the campaign and crime prevention messages.
