Thornburypeople can exclusively reveal that Enterprise Inns are set to re-open the Swan public house in Thornbury

Just when we thought it was the end of the road for The Swan public house in Thornbury the pub owners Enterprise Inns confirms plans to re-open the pub.

Thornburypeople.co.uk can exclusively announce that the pub chain Enterprise Inns are looking to reopen the once popular pub as early as next week.

The news came following an email received from Vicky Averis Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer at Enterprise Inns earlier today.

The future of the Swan looked bleak following a series of closures and take overs, but the pub chain have remained confident over the pubs future throughout the closures and lease re-assignments.

Back in February we announced that work had started on the external front porch and that the pub chain Enterprise Inns has taken positive steps to improve the look and condition of the pub.

Then back in March we reported that the pub chain were actively looking for a new tenant to take on a new ease at the Swan. At the time Vicky confirmed that the Swan was being ran by a temporary management team and that they would continue to run it until a new tenant was found.

Less than a month later Enterprise Inns called time on the property and metal grids were installed on all the windows and doors to the property in order to secure the vacant building.

It looked highly likely that this was the end of the road for the once buzzing and lively pub, however today's announcement comes as a positive step for the already struggling Thornbury Town Centre. Already in recent months we have seen retails leave the town and they include Let's Walk and Cotswold News.

Once we have further information on the re-opening of the Swan further details will be added.
