There is so much going on in and around Thornbury during the summer holidays and we have already posted detailed information about local events taking place.

Thornbury Library have also announced an activities planner for the summer holidays, I have listed just a few of the events taking place during the summer holidays at Thornbury Library but also events are taking place at all south Gloucestershire libraries during the summer holidays.

So if you are unable to attend an event at Thornbury Library on a certain day you can always pop along to another South Gloucestershire Library.

It is also worth mentioning that all the events at the libraries are totally free however all under 5’s must be accompanied by an adult.

So kick starting the holiday fun at Thornbury Library is on the 17th July which is Space Hop Blast Off, this is a reading challenge suitable for ages 4-12.

Then on the 2nd August is the creative writing workshop suitable for ages 7-11

On the 9th August is Space Sculptures with local artist Lucy, This is suitable for ages 4-11 and are sure to be a hit.

18th August is Space Chase suitable for ages 4-10 however advanced booking is required.

The last of the summer activities in Thornbury Library is on the 25th August and its Lunar Landing, again advanced booking is required for this event.

Full details on all the above events and also further details on events taking place in other South Gloucestershire libraries can be obtained by contacting the Library on 01454 86 80 06 or visiting the Library website at www.southglos.gov.uk/libraries

Perhaps you can arrange an interview with Bob Filer, the Senior Librarian at Thornbury Library, and put it to him that the library's summer activities are very very poor, and that the library is a total joke. I would be interested to know his response. In any case, I think it would be appropriate that the South Gloucestershire Council be aware of the comments being made about the libvrary services on this Northcliffe Media website.
