Thanks for your comments, although the Thornbury carnival was a success I do partly agree with you. It was a little disappointing to see SOME not making much of an effort. But I guess some of it comes down to available funds. I remember when I was at school in thornbury the carnivals were wicked. Lots of time, money and effort went into the floats and yes they were proper floats.
I think what made Pilning carnival was the fact that Pilning is a small village yet everyone came together to make it happen. The committee did a fantastic job.
However is showed also that a lot of hard work and time went into making the Thornbury carnival happen. After all I am sure it is not an easy job to do.
After all said and done I think the carnival was good and was also a success. I do also agree with the comment about the rides. Again I have 4 children and at £3 PER ride it works out expensive. Also picking up on another point of yours is the entry fee. Again Pilning did not charge a entry fee so did Thornbury carnival really need to charge ?
Let me know what you think guys.
