New Museum exhibitions - rolling pins and cheese!
From January to March 2011, the museum is hosting an exhibition, curated by Reginald King, on the history of the rolling pin.
Come and marvel at the range of rolling pins on show. Made from a variety of materials, some are extraordinarily beautiful and decorative. Others are designed to make the pastry cook smile.
Alongside the rolling pins themselves are a range of documents and illustrations, showing rolling pins in use. We're sure you'll remember seeing them in humorous postcards of marital arguments!
Don't miss this FREE exhibition, which will run until March 2011.
Also from Tuesday 18 January 2011:
'Maids-a-Milking', in our downstairs front room, has been guest-curated by long-standing members of the Gloucestershire Dairy Students Association and tells the history of local women cheesemakers.
This FREE exhibition is on until April 2011. Come and find out how to make Single and Double Gloucester!
