The Frying Machine, Thornburys oldest running fish and chip shop located at the top of the towns high street sells an array of take away food including traditional good old fashioned english fish and chips. due to the location of the take away there is always ample parking within a short walking distance.

ReportGot to be the best fish and chip shop around. The fish is out of this world, crispy batter rather than the soggy oily stuff you usually get. They also do a special for pensioners, free chips, which is ideal for the mother in law who cant eat a large portion. Only downside is it closes early so no good if you are back home late and fancy a fish supper. Good prices, good selection of food other than fish. Very chirpy friendly staff too.

ReportWhat more can I say than yum yum!! I buy a fish supper once a week from the Frying Machine (as it was originally called) Their fish and chips are always superb and they actually do a 'pensioners special' whereby you get free chips! Ok, so its only a small portion of chips but for my 80 year old mother it is plenty.
The only downside is that they seem to close at 9.30 in the evening? whether this is to close before the pubs turn out or for some other reason I'm not sure.
The shop always looks clean and tidy and the staff are always friendly. Just a pity it isnt open a little later in the evening.
