In our previous article we mentioned how local mum of two and Playbus owner Emma Shepherd was in need of a local garage to carry out some maintenance on the car in order to have it ready for the 1,500 mile charity drive to Prague.

Since our previous article back in July Emma has informed us that they have now had the car fully serviced and the exhaust and drive shafts have been replaced by local business Ian Trimball in Iron Acton, Thanks to the generosity of Ian Trimball this was all done for free.

Emma has also confirmed that the pair have not just hit but smashed their fundraising target. Emma said "We did a pub crawl in Thornbury with the backing of our main sponsor Hapsburg Absinthe on Saturday evening. We managed to raise £134.39 from the good patrons of The Black Horse, Mezze, The Wheatsheaf and The Knot of Rope

"In the process we handed out several miniature bottles of Absinthe to bar staff in return for being allowed to shake our tin in the pub.

"We now only have a couple of weeks left until we go, but are hoping to boost our charity fundraising with the help of The Playbus at The Balloon Fiesta this weekend. We are running a competition where you can win a giant teddy bear and a £100 voucher for The Playbus, for guessing the number of bookings The Playbus has had since we started just over 6 years ago - with 50% of the money made going to Cancer Research.

The girls are still in need of a replacement windscreen, so if anyone is able to help the girls out with this then please contact Emma on 07851 304 132 or via email at emma@emshepherd.co.uk
