South Gloucestershire Council are warning residents across the area to be aware of a scam in the area. According to the Council, Unsolicited emails have been received by residents in South Gloucestershire indicating that a two day induction and training course will take place at the Kingswood Civic Centre on 28th and 29th June 2012 and that prior to arriving, they should make a payment of £50 in advance to ensure the job placement is still effective. The Council have confirmed that these emails are in fact a scam and residents are being advised that no payment should be made upon receipt of these emails.
If you have received one of these emails or have already made a payment that you are concerned may be suspicious then you are advised to contact the police by either visiting your nearest police station or via the police non-emergency telephone number 101.
