Police launch murder investigation in Thornbury and confirm the identity of the body found

Police have confirmed that they have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a man's body in Thornbury yesterday (Tuesday 14th February 2012).

Police confirm the body discovered was that of The Reverend John Suddards who was 59
A post mortem has been carried out and the man has been named as The Reverend John Suddards who was 59.
Rev Suddards was killed by multiple stab wounds.
Officers have arrested a 43-year-old man on suspicion of murder and he remains in police custody at this time.
Officers are appealing for the public's help to progress the enquiry. Anyone with any information on the incident is asked to contact the Operation Derry incident room on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Detective Chief Inspector Simon Crisp said:
"We are determined to bring whoever is responsible for the Reverend's death to justice and have a team of officers working on this investigation around the clock.
"I would like to thank the people of Thornbury for their cooperation and support so far but would ask anyone who has not been in touch to contact us with their information. It could be vital to our investigation."

ReportWell that was fast for the police, just hope they caught the right person, after all we dont want another mess up over someone being the prime suspect then to be cleared months later!
