Mobile police patrols carried out in Thornbury

Mobile police patrols were carried out in Thornbury, Tytherington and in Streamleaze on Tuesday (September 11) as part of a Europe-wide driver safety campaign.

The Thornbury neighbourhood team were checking for speeding drivers and anyone who was using a mobile phone while driving or not wearing a seat belt.

In Tytherington one speeding ticket was issued and two other drivers were given words of advice after being found just over the limit. Another person was warned for not wearing a seat belt.

In Streamleaze the officers warned someone for cycling on the pavement. The registered keepers of two vehicles found to be untaxed will be prosecuted.
