Merlin housing publish plans for at risk homes in the area

Social Housing provider Merlin Housing have published details of at risk homes currently under their control.

Residents at each of the ten 'at risk' supported housing schemes are waiting to hear the final outcome for the future of their schemes. At the beginning of the Spring, meetings were held at each of the ten schemes which was deemed to be at risk due to a number of issues which affected the schemes' ability to meet the needs of our older residents now and in the future. Residents were asked to give their views on the plans to help the Board make its decision.

The Board at Merlin met on 14th June to make the final decision on the future of each of the schemes. Now Merlin is beginning a series of meetings with residents at the schemes to let them know the outcome.

Head of Supported Housing at Merlin Sally Willcox said: "We have taken great care to make sure that we have looked at every possible option for each of these ten schemes. We've held several meetings with residents at each of these schemes to keep them informed and to let them have their say throughout the process."

Merlin will be writing to residents at its 40 other schemes in the autumn to let them know when their planned improvements will be taking place.
