Kauz brace is enough to kill off Deerswood

TWO Karl Kauz goals and a dogged display of determination from all players saw Thornbury Town Under-10s see off Deerswood teams with a 2-1 overall win.
The first game of this Division C affair began with Adam Cain playing upfront for Town and nearly scoring straight away.
Kieran Perrett and Luke Bennett performed bravely in the centre and man-of-the-match defender Ben Vizard stopped everything that came his way.
When Sam Sturt and Josh Lyden came on in the second half the tempo increased, with Jacob Ford making a string of sublime saves for Town as the match somehow ended goalless.
Thornbury keeper Oskar Kauz was immediately called into action in game two and had to react smartly several times to prevent an early goal. Will Hendy made some exciting forays down the left and Karl Kauz went close to netting with a long-range effort.
Yet it was Deerswood who struck first with a well-taken goal, only for Thornbury, driven on by their star player Gabby Cerullo, to quickly draw level as their increasingly dominant midfield provided Kauz with a wonderfully-taken goal.
And with the final kick of the game Kauz sliced the dominant Deerswood defence apart to net the winner.
