Firebrands Ladies hoping for a winning return to league action

SIXTH-PLACED Firebrands Ladies, fresh from their promising indoor campaign, return to outdoor action in EH National Conference West on Sunday, when they entertain Exe at Clifton College Sports Ground (12.30pm).
Premier Division Clifton Ladies resume their league programme next week.
In Davis Wood Men's Premier One, Firebrands overwhelmed ECV Hornets 10-1, while Robinsons were 5-1 winners over Plymouth Marjons.
In Premier Two, Bristol/UWE were 2-0 winners over Robinsons A and Westbury/Utd Banks lost 1-0 against Team Bath Buccs B. Westbury/Utd Banks 2nds beat Firebrands B 3-1 following goals from Stuart Wells-Martin, Paul Mason and Tom Colquhoun.
A hat-trick from Nathan Walkey and goals from Chris Butt and Chris Meakin helped Westbury/Utd Banks 3rds win 5-4 against South Gloucs. Westbury/Utd Banks Wanderers were 4-1 winners over Yate B, thanks to goals from Phil Beer, Alan Sparks, Pete Farrell and Steve Millman.
A Tom Sammes goal earned Westbury/Utd Banks Wizards a 1-1 draw with Old Bristolians C . Jim Williams was the scorer for Old Bristolians. Westbury/Utd Banks Warriors were 3-1 winners over Somerset Gryphons B, following goals from Pete Thomas, Toby Whitehead and Tom Taylor.
A goal from Tony Webster was not enough to stop Westbury/Utd Banks Widgets from losing 2-1 against Mendip A.
In West Women's Premier One, Firebrands 2nds lost 3-2 against Exe and Clifton 2nds went down 1-0 at Lansdown.
University of Bristol and Bournemouth drew 1-1.
In Premier Two, a Jo Park goal earned Westberries a 1-0 victory over Taunton Vale and Redland Ladies lost 6-1 at Lydney.
In other divisions, Westberries 2nds lost 3-1 against Somerset Gryphons. The Westberries goal came from Nic Pearce-Smith. Westberries 4ths won 4-1 against Bristol.
Goals from Charlotte Cockerton (2) and Rachael Gardiner (2) earned Thornbury a 4-1 win over Old Bristolians 2nds.
Kate Dexter, Wallis Josefowicz and Sarah Hyde-Wear were on target as Avonmouth won 3-2 against Thornbury 2nds, for whom Zoe Barnett scored two.
Amy Davidge and Sophie Edwards scored for Pucklechurch in a 2-2 draw with West Wilts.
Old Bristolians suffered a 2-1 defeat at ECVH and BAC overcame University of Bristol 2nds.
