A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after striking another man with a weapon in Patchway yesterday (December 25).

A 29-year-old man is critically ill in hospital after an altercation at about 2.15am in Cedar Close.
A police spokesman said that two men had been involved in a verbal altercation that then turned physical with one striking another with a weapon.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have any information to come forward and contact them.
The 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and currently remains in police custody.
